Booking and preparing for a personal or commercial branding photoshoot can be an exciting and rewarding experience. To start, you'll want to find a photographer who specializes in branding or portrait photography. Look at their portfolio to ensure their style aligns with your vision. Once you've selected a photographer, reach out to discuss details such as location, time, and any specific shots you have in mind. I always recommend meeting virtually or in person so that you can assess your chemistry. Your connection with your photographer will show in the final images.
Next, prepare for the photoshoot by considering your branding message. Think about your image & what you want to convey. How do you want to be perceived by your audience? Choose outfits that reflect your personal or brand style and make sure they are clean, well-fitted, and wrinkle-free. Consider accessories, props, or backgrounds that can enhance your branding message. I strongly recommend all of my clients create a vision board. A vision board will help to guide the session and will ultimately ensure the client's vision is captured.
On the day of the photoshoot, arrive early to the location with your outfits and any necessary items. Make sure to communicate openly with the photographer about your goals and ideas. During the shoot, relax and have fun to capture genuine expressions that represent you or your brand authentically. After the photoshoot, review the images with the photographer and select the best ones for editing and final delivery. Remember, a successful branding photoshoot is a collaborative effort between you and the photographer to create images that tell your unique story.
